LIFT ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE ARMS
The skin of the underside of the arm is soft and has a tendency to relax and become loose after weight loss. The shape of the arm can be improved by a surgical procedure called an armlift or lift of the inner side of the arm. This intervention removes the excess skin and fat causing the remaining tissue to become tighter.
The scar is hidden on the inside of the arm. This procedure can be done under partial anesthesia or local anesthesia.
Convalescence:
An arm lift will require an overnight stay at the clinic. Dressings will need to be worn for about a week. Bruising and swelling may occur. They usually subside after 10 to 15 days. The procedure is not painful. Dressings are removed after 7-10 days. You can resume sporting activity 4 weeks after the operation.
The results:
There will be a noticeable improvement in the sagging skin of the arms, enhancing the shape of the upper limbs. However, there will be a noticeable, rose-like scar present for about a month. This will gradually fade and brighten over time. You will be able to fully appreciate the final results within a period of 12 to 18 months.
