ABDOMINAL PLASTIC SURGERY
This procedure involves the removal of excess fat and skin from the belly when liposculpture is not sufficient to restore a flat stomach. This is a minor operation and can take place under partial anesthesia in non-severe cases.
However, if the abdominal wall is stretched, the abdominal muscles are also firmly attached to each other. This requires a larger operation under general anesthetic and a stay of 2 to 5 days in the clinic (depending on the person).
Recent improvements of this technique allow it to combine extensive liposuction - to promote the mobility of the abdominal skin - and removal of the abdominal tummy muscle without detaching the abdominal wall. This significantly reduces the risk of this operation, and allows it to take place in smaller operating suites.
Convalesence:
A horizontal scar, usually positioned at the level of the pubis will be left behind. Patients will need to wear a lap belt and corset for 4-6 weeks.
The results:
Regardless of the level of intervention, the results are often significant and visible after about two months. This operation can provide a significant and definite solution towards acquiring a flat stomach.
