AESTHETIC SURGERY OF THE EYELIDS
Aesthetic surgery of the eyelids, or blepharoplasty, allows removal of excess fat and skin from the upper and lower eyelid.
The incision is hidden in a natural fold or is made just below the eyelashes, making it virtually undetectable. If no excess skin needs to be removed this can even be avoided with the fat pockets removed through their internal tracks.
This procedure can be performed on men and women above 40 years of age. Laboratory tests, and if necessary opthalmic assesments, are made prior to the operation.
The operation requires no overnight stay in hospital and is usually performed under general anesthesia.
Convalesence:
Removal of the sutures will take place after 5 days and bruising usually subsides after 10 days.
The results:
The procedure rejuvenates the face by eliminating bags under the eyes and removing excess skin. This leaves the patient with a fresh, more alert appearance.
