AESTHETIC SURGERY OF THE NOSE
Rhinoplasty can modify the shape, size and appearance of your nose. You can remove a bump, refine, shorten or extend the base, modify the tip…
The goal is to correct disharmony and improve the aesthetic balance and symmetry of the face. If you also suffer from functional internal complications (like a deviated septum) these can be corrected during the same procedure.
It's possible to perform the procedure upon the cessation of bone growth, usually from the age of seventeen. Pre-operative examinations will always be performed to check for potential contraindications. The procedure typically takes an hour and a half and is performed under local anesthesia. Depending on the extent of the procedure an additional sedative may also be administered.
Convalescence:
A cast will be required for 7-8 days. Bruising around the eyes will typically subside in one or two weeks. Once the cast is removed visible traces of the procedure will have all but disappeared. The procedure is pain-free. You will be able to resume full normal activity approximately two weeks after the operation.
The result:
It will take several months before you can fully appreciate the final result. The surgeon's art consists of preserving the natural shape of the nose while restoring harmony and symmetry to the face.
